“This might sound like I am exaggerating, but I'm not– ElevatEd is the reason I got into my dream university.
Before I came across them, I was lost and felt like giving up. Kevin, Jeff and the rest of the team not only provided me with the necessary tips and tricks to draft my best application but also helped me express my most authentic self, while sharing words of encouragement that I didn't know I needed.
I couldn't be more grateful for the work they’re putting in.
Because of them, I am the first in my family to attend college!”
-Ash (accepted to Harvard EA)
“The ElevatEd team was my cheer squad, helping me tackle university applications with– if you can believe this– excitement! Their detailed asynchronous essay editing and ingenious solutions to my roadblocks in Zoom meetings made the whole process a blast.
Jeff, Kevin and the entire ElevatEd team, thank you for turning my dream of getting into Yale into a reality!
-May (accepted to Yale EA)

How had I, a former first-gen, low-income student who spent his summers working in his parents’ Chinese restaurant, helped hundreds of seniors across the world get into their dream schools?
The answer? Storytelling.
Jeff and I have been fortunate enough to have had countless moments like Ashley and Maydeline’s in the past few years.
-
Turning a tale about teaching robotics at a homeless shelter into an electrifying story (pun-intended) that got Audrey from California into Yale and Johns Hopkins.
-
Or helping Andy from Texas better articulate how trekking in the wilderness as a Boy Scout inspired him to research magnetometer calibration so future hikers wouldn’t get lost – a magnificent common app that ultimately got him into Duke!
-
Helping Thivya from Toronto articulate how her passion for financial literacy could uplift her future Philadelphia community (landing her an early acceptance to Wharton)!
-
Or even editing 20+ drafts of Morteza’s essays (an Afghani student who was kidnapped by the Taliban) get into Stanford so that he can continue building free edtech resources for girls in his community.
(Quick aside, but all 4 of those students ended up working for us as media and tech interns the year after they were accepted into college)!
But who cares about me or them? I’m writing this for YOU.
If you’re reading this page, it means you’re the type of student who doesn’t want to settle. You’re here because you want to give yourself the best education – and life – possible.
There's a truth your friends, teachers, even counselors neglected to tell you – especially if you come from an Asian or immigrant background.
You’ve been tricked into thinking hard work is what determines success.
That the key to getting into a good college and getting a high-paying job is to put in your time into studying and collecting great grades.
I’m sorry to be the one to tell you… you’ve been sold a lie.
That’s why each year top schools like Harvard and Yale reject valedictorians with perfect GPAs and SAT scores.
That’s why you see classmates with less impressive awards getting the acceptances and scholarships you want.
It’s not just who you are. It’s how you present who you are.
It’s not just what you’ve done. It’s about how you make people care.
If you aren’t an excellent storyteller, you’re going to lose out in life to folks that don’t deserve to be beating you. But they will beat you. Again and again.
It isn’t fair, but deep down we all know that this is how the world works.
This isn’t just about writing a common app essay. This bleeds into everything.
Can you think of the last time you looked at your writing and said to yourself: “Wow. This is the best thing I’ve ever written."
Jeff and I decided to launch the ElevatEd Essay Async portal after:
-
Students kept telling us their biggest stressor was “writing a standout college essay”
-
I realized most students are pretty solid at academic writing, but struggle to break out of cliche molds when it comes to personal narratives for college admissions
-
I kept running into the same generic advice online — “show, don’t tell,” “be yourself,” “make it personal”... without anyone (ironically) actually showing how to do it
-
I tried half a dozen other essay editing services and found the feedback was vague, the editors were untrained… and was left feeling more confused than empowered.
Can you think of a time where you had a story you cared about, but everyone told you it wasn't good enough?
Or when you finally shared something honest and real -- and someone called it cringy, basic, or overdone?
We've all been there. Every single student I've helped has been there.
"The fact you gave constructive comments instead actual “physical rewrites” majorly aided in both the structure and the personality of my essay. And the fast turn around was such a blessing, thanks a lot ElevatEd!"

"ElevatED’s essay editing services are top-notch! I benefited so much with phrasing and structuring it's not even funny."

I’ve seen my life grow from something I was really dissatisfied with to a living dream. And along the way, I’ve noticed this simple universal truth again and again…
Your Stories Massively Impact The Quality Of Your Life
Your opportunities – both when it comes to college and beyond – boils down to the quality of your stories. Crafting and sharing amazing stories with the mentors you admire, the insanely cool classmates you want to befriend– that is the kind of superpower will change your life in the decades to come.
We’ve worked with hundreds of students — from first-gen low-income to legacy Ivy hopefuls — get into every single top U.S. college again and again, year after year.
These kids weren’t valedictorians or Olympians. They, like you, were just good students who managed to write great stories.
So that Yale acceptance? That full-ride scholarship?
What if we told you you’re just a few stories away from making all that happen?
Once you master these fundamental concepts in our step-by-step training, it’s simple.
You’ll be able to do things you once thought impossible.
"My essays were edited with utmost care, and there were tons of terrific revisions to help me improve my writing… but the best thing about ElevatED is how personal it is. Most college guidance services charge exorbitant prices (sometimes over $100-200K!), but ElevatED has always offered discounts and fair prices for their hard work, which is incredible for both low and middle-class families. This team really cares about its students, and I would do it all over again!"

What is Async Essay Editing?
Edit My Essay is a service designed to give you all the tools you need to take your writing to the next level.
This isn’t generic feedback stuff either like you might get from an AI, other consultancy, or school teacher. You’ll get real, ready-to-use line-by-line suggestions that you can begin to implement immediately so that each draft you’re seeing massive strides.
You’ll get a rating out of our 9-point scale, plus get to see sample essays that helped previous students we worked with get into their dream schools.
In addition to in-line edits, you’ll receive a detailed feedback letter–an actionable, step-by-step guide. With our commentary, you’ll know how to integrate edits so that you can elevate your writing and take it to the next level.
In short, you’ll learn the secret formula to writing unforgettable stories.
Here’s just SOME of the things you’ll be able to do after editing your essay:
-
Craft opening lines and essays so memorable, your reader won’t just remember you — they’ll root for you.
-
Write stories that flow like conversation with vivid scenes, real stakes, and no filler or fluff.
-
Use emotional detail and specificity to make your reader feel, not just think.
-
Develop a razor-sharp sense of what will land, whether it’s a joke, a metaphor, or a bold topic.
-
Capture your full personality on the page, not just your activities list.
-
Write like a peer, not a pleaser — so that you connect with older, more successful readers without shrinking or posturing.
-
Identify and remove any red flags (overly arrogant or shy tone, weak conclusions, poor topic choice, and more)
-
Even if your application feels miles away from where you want it to be, Edit My Essay guides you step-by-step through each phase — from messy draft to polished statement.
All the above? GUARANTEED.
So how do I get my essay edited?
To offer the kind of storytelling coaching we do now used to take over 30 live Zoom sessions and a $6,000 investment
Was it worth it? Absolutely.
Over 95% of our private students got into one of their top 3 schools. Dozens gladly paid $400–$500 an hour for the chance to sit down with us and receive personalized feedback on the most important application of their lives.
But live coaching came with a cost — and not just for students.
Jeff and I were spending hours over Zoom lecturing instead of editing. If we had new ideas, they had to happen live, in front of the student, under time pressure.
Once the call ended, there was no going back. No chance to revise, no second look, no quality check.
So we changed everything. We switched to an async offline model — and instantly, our time, quality and impact became 10x more effective.
Now we could read, reflect, and respond beyond the time confines of each zoom meeting.
Every essay now got a full review, not just a live reaction.
And the best part?
Students ended up loving this model even more than the original!
They even received edits faster (sometimes overnight!) because we could work while they slept or were in school.
They paid way less: hundreds for a Common App essay vs. thousands before.
And they had flexibility: no rigid packages, just focused support where and when they needed it.
Since we launched this service 3 years ago, our team has edited over 7500+ essays from students of all backgrounds — first-gen, international, public, private.
Students love it. And we promise you will too!
I want to make sure this elevates your life to the point where the investment (in yourself!) is a no brainer.
So I’m including a 100% guarantee – that’s how confident Jeff and I are in our service.
If by the time you receive your essay back from our editors, and it isn’t an obviously fantastic investment, all you have to do is let our team know (email taylor@elevated.school) and we’ll refund your purchase.
Seriously – take your essay, send it to any competitor you want, and compare the feedback side by side.
If you genuinely believe their edits are better than ElevatEd’s, Jeff and I will be shocked. Last year, our students’ feedback revealed that of 4500+ essays, 85% were rated 😇(sensational), 18% were rated 😀(great) and just <1% were rated ☹️ (below expectations).
In short, if you’re unhappy for any reason, you are entitled to your money back. Sometimes this takes the form of a refund, another free edit, a discount,Typically we let you pick!
No forms, no hoops — just a quick message explaining why, so we can take your feedback and keep getting better.
Seriously: we don’t want your money unless you feel we’ve delivered something truly excellent.

How much will it cost?
We think of our pricing like ride-sharing apps, theme parks, or the Japanese bullet train — it adjusts depending on the time of year and how quickly you need your essay back.
Our lowest rates run from February 1 to September 1. For example, a 650-word Common App essay with a standard 3-business-day turnaround ($0.24/word) would cost just $156 — less than half of what we used to charge for live lessons!
During our busiest seasons — usually right before major deadlines (Oct 1–Nov 1 and Dec 15–Feb 1) — pricing is higher. That’s because we pay our editors more during those high-stress periods to make sure they can continue delivering incredible, thoughtful feedback, even when the volume is intense.
We also offer faster turnaround options — including <12 hour rush for true emergencies. When you choose one of those, just know there’s a real editor on the other side who’s dropping everything — skipping Halloween plans, rescheduling Christmas or New Years dinners, even pausing family time — to prioritize your story. In short, the price is higher because we believe that kind of care and sacrifice should be fairly recognized in the rate per word.
If you can, we highly recommend submitting your essays before September, or between Nov 1–Dec 15. You’ll save money, avoid the seasonal rush, and give your editor more breathing room to go deep on your draft!
