The Myth

"Good grades, test scores and hard work will get you into a good college."

Growing up, you might have heard this from your parents, friends or even your counselors.

But if you're reading this, you know that's not true.

You're here because you know essays matter. A lot.

In fact, most Independent Educational Consultants and Admission Officers agree that essays make up 25-35% of your entire application.

How Important Are Essays Really?

If grades account for a third, and honors/awards/extracurriculars account for a third, that means essays account for roughly 1/3 too.

Let’s think about that math for a second: the 3.5+ years and hundreds of hours you spent on grades and your after school extracurriculars are statistically equal to your essays— a process which most seniors don’t even start until a month before the deadline.

But YOU are not most seniors.

You're here because you want to write the best essay you’re capable of, and because you’re wise enough to know that doing this all alone is hard (to say the least).

None of the tips ElevatEd gave felt artificial or would detract from my own storytelling, instead actually making them feel a lot more personal and giving more insight into my story and personality.

Something I found was that the essays in which I watched more ElevatEd School videos for and utilized those tips came out feeling a lot more finished and that I truly felt satisfied in writing.

I would even go so far as to say that using these tips in my essays helped me discover some things about myself!

What If...?

Can you think of the last time you looked at your writing and said to yourself:

‘Wow. This is the best thing I’ve ever written.’

Your college essays are one of the most important things you'll ever write.

If done properly, it will pay dividends far beyond getting into your dream school.

Take Jeff for example: his college essay was featured in the New York Times.

His common app not only fueled his decision to double major in a humanities subject, but inspired him to pursue education as a career and co-found ElevatEd with Kevin.

Before he wrote and published this story, he’d convinced himself that he was a STEM kid and "that writing wasn’t for him."

Why Choose Us?

Since 2020, we’ve reviewed more than 7500 essays.

Within the college consulting space, we’re renowned for our essay editing quality.

Firms from China, Vietnam and more routinely reach out to us to help with this exact service.

Last year, we even tried out every single one of our competitors (see here).

After analyzing their pricing and quality, we came up with the following ranking: Essaycafe, Prompt, Sundial, NextAdmit, SupsAI, Wordvice, Harvard Square Essays, PaperTrue, Scribendi

We encourage you to try other services and compare the quality of edits — if you think theirs are better than ours, I (Kevin) would be shocked (and happy to offer you a refund).

ElevatEd has truly been a blessing. I got into their scholarship program, and they edited my essays for free with so much care and attention to detail.

Their feedback made a huge difference, and honestly, their YouTube videos were a lifeline during the application process. I’m so grateful for the support.

They didn’t just help me polish my essays; they helped me believe in my story.

Our Team

In the last few years, over 1000 editors have applied to work with us.

Many were Ivy League grads with prior professional editing experience.

We picked the top 90, had them undergo hours of rigorous training, then narrowed down our list to the top 30, or 5%.

I strongly believe that each of the editors on our team edits and writes better than me (Kevin); in fact, one of our guiding company policies is to ‘hire-up!’

Pricing

Like ride-sharing services, theme parks and the shinkansen (Japanese bullet train), our pricing varies based on time of year and demand.

Our busiest periods are the month before deadlines (Oct 1-Nov 1st and Dec 15-Feb 1st).

We highly recommend submitting your work to us before September or from Nov 1-Dec 15th!

From Feb 1 -Sep 1, a 650 word common app would cost = 650 words * 24 cents/word = $156 for a standard 3 business day turnaround.

Our rates also vary based on turnaround times — faster turnarounds are more expensive.

*This year, we’ve added a new feature: for an extra fee, you can select which specific editor you’d like your essay reviewed by!

Our Guarantee

After you receive your essay back, you’ll be asked to rate our feedback (☹️, 😀 or 😇)

In the rare scenario, you rate our feedback ☹️, we'll do everything we can to make things right.

Sometimes this takes the form of a refund, another free edit, a discount, or something else (typically we let you pick).

Last year, out of 4500+ essays, 85% were rated 😇 (excellent), 18% were rated 😀 (good) and <1% were rated ☹️

Scholarship

Program

If cost is your main concern and holding you back from submitting an essay for us to review, please fill out our intake form and select the “Scholarship Student” option.

I, Kevin, personally attended top institutions on full financial aid and would hate for cost to be the only reason we can’t work together.

Every year we work with low-income, high-achieving students to help them get into every single top 20 college.

Since 2020, we've edited more than 500+ scholarship essays and provided more than $80,000 in free async essay edits.
